Professional Development for Teachers

For neighborhood schools, Riverside Park provides an easily accessible, rich educational resource. To encourage teachers to utilize the Park as an extension of their existing classroom curriculum the Fund sponsors free semi-annual professional development workshops for kindergarten-fifth grade educators.

Each workshop is designed to be relevant to some aspect of the Park’s ecology. Previous workshops have addressed the Park’s seasonal changes, its bird life, flowers and pollinators, and the marine life of the Hudson River.
